Drop THE MIC: CONFIDENCE THROUGH COMEDY

Drop The Mic training is all about using comedy, stagecraft, improv and storytelling to help you become a powerful presenter.

Present Your Best Self.

More than ever, we need to be able to hold an audience’s attention.

Whether it’s giving a speech at a trade conference, stepping up to a Wedding speech, delivering a sales update over Zoom, or simply nailing a job interview, the ability to engage an audience is a valuable skill; but it doesn't come naturally to everyone.

That's where Drop The Mic comes in.

Borne from a wealth of experience in stand-up, improv and speechwriting as well as corporate experience in some of the UK’s leading businesses, we make novice presenters confident, make good presenters great and teach you a wealth of techniques used by the world's most most engaging performers.

Engage any room .

In our highly interactive sessions, we’ll teach you how to get any audience, to “lean in”, how to tell them stories they’ll love, share key tips to develop your presence, discuss why nerves are good thing, explore how to deal with heckling and teach you how to walk into any presentation with confidence and authority.

Team building and confidence-boosting

Our sessions build teams, improve group communication and instil confidence - whether for the boardroom or a keynote speech.

Presenting should be as much fun for you as it is for your audience.

We'll show you how to hold a room's attention and enjoy every moment.

About me

I founded Drop The Mic after 10 years of living a double life as a media and marketing man by day and semi-pro stand up by night, gigging in some of the best (and all of the worst) comedy clubs around the country.

After sitting through (and let’s be honest, probably giving) countless terrible presentations, where the presenter and the audience both visibly wished they were anywhere else, I became passionate about applying the learnable skills of stand up to the 9-5 world to make everyone’s lives more joyful.

How do comedians “effortlessly” engaging all types and sizes of crowd, no matter the occasion?
How do comics use narrative and structure to guide the audience on a journey and leave them feeling moved?
Most importantly, how on earth do they make it look as if they’re having fun up there, just… being themselves?

To answer these questions and become a powerful presenter or to help your team, engage with impact, drop me a line: toby@dropthemic.co.uk
